Even during the renovation stage, the clients contacted Motiva to clarify how much space would be needed for the curtain installation.

Since the rooms were small, it was important to calculate the niche depth and the distance from the radiator to ensure everything looked neat and the curtains could move freely.
Additionally, both rooms had sloped walls and protruding radiators with regulators, which required precise measurements.

Based on our recommendations, a stretch ceiling with the necessary offset was installed so that the system wouldn’t interfere with window opening or touch the radiator.

WINDOWS BEFORE INSTALLATION

The main request from the clients was to have something that looks as light and airy as sheer fabric, but still allows the window to be fully covered when needed.

The hybrid Bali curtains by Motiva perfectly meet this requirement: when the slats are open, they look light and elegant, and when turned, they provide complete privacy.

There was also a practical consideration — the family has a cat that loves climbing onto the windowsill and lying behind the curtains. With regular curtains, this often ended with torn fabric, as the cat simply couldn’t get through.

Bali curtains solve this problem: they consist of separate vertical panels connected only at the top, allowing easy access to the window and free movement through the curtains.

WHY BALI CURTAINS WERE CHOSEN

The Bali curtains by Motiva look light and modern, perfectly complementing the interior and fitting beautifully in both rooms.
They let in soft, pleasant light while still allowing full window coverage when needed.
The cat is happy — and the owners even more so: the rooms became cozier, brighter, and more practical, while the curtains stayed intact.

Why not classic curtains?

To hang both sheer and blackout curtains neatly, the window niche would need to be about 25 cm deep.
And considering the radiator and its control valve, you’d need even more space.
For smaller rooms, that’s a significant loss of space — so Bali curtains turned out to be a much more practical and visually lighter solution.
