Anne-Ly — Author of a Family and Home Blog — Reached Out to Us

When their family moved into a new house, they had two young children (now three!), and Anne-Ly wanted to make the interior not only beautiful but also as practical as possible — since every room has windows that need their own solutions.

To ensure everything was chosen correctly, she invited Motiva’s textile decorator Oksana, a specialist with over 15 years of experience. Together, they discussed the layout, reviewed materials, and selected fabric colors.

The plan was simple yet well thought out: to create a cohesive style throughout the home while considering each room’s conditions — humidity in the bathroom, sloped ceilings on the second floor, and large windows in the living room.
These photos show where the project began — before each room received its individual solution from Motiva, which made the home truly cozy, functional, and harmonious.

Windows Before Design

Both rooms are located under the roof, and all the windows have a non-standard shape with slanted angles.

For these windows, Oksana suggested pleated blinds — a universal solution suitable for any shape, from rectangular to triangular. The blackout fabric ensures comfortable sleep and protects from bright sunlight, while keeping the room from feeling “too closed off.”

It’s important to choose a system that not only looks neat but also allows the window to close completely without blocking the sash movement.

Children’s Room and Bedroom

Anne-Ly’s sauna is divided into two zones: a shower area and a relaxation area with a large window.

For the shower area, the Motiva specialist chose pleated blinds that are moisture-resistant. The fabric withstands condensation and retains its shape even with temperature changes. These blinds completely cover the window, providing privacy — especially important in a room with panoramic glazing.

In the relaxation area, the solution was different — Bali hybrid curtains from Motiva were installed.
They look like light textile curtains but are much more functional:

you can rotate the slats to completely close the view, or leave them slightly open — letting soft light into the room while maintaining a feeling of spaciousness.

Sauna

Anne-Ly’s living room has large windows, and it was important to keep the interior bright and airy while still allowing privacy when needed.

The solution was sheer and decorative curtains from Motiva.

They don’t darken the space but add coziness and make the lounge area look visually complete.

In the kitchen, pleated blinds were installed again — due to the narrow windows and proximity to the sink, this was the most practical choice.

Pleated blinds are easy to clean, resistant to moisture, and perfectly suited for modern kitchens where every detail matters.
